Hello, I'm Emma
Project manager. Parent. Expat living in Toronto, Canada.
Several years ago, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Canada wasn't part of the long-term plan. As with many international relocations, it started as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far more significant.
The initial months were demanding— unfamiliar systems, new routines, heightened expectations. Ordinary tasks seemed more challenging than they ought to be.
The Adjustment Period
There was cultural adjustment, doubt, and a lot of trial-and-error learning. Yet gradually routines took shape. We found spots that fit us, connected with other families, and began creating something that felt steady.
Why I Built MellowFieldTone
Most information available online hovered between corporate relocation guidance and shallow tourism content. The missing piece was a candid, everyday family viewpoint.
This site aims to bridge that gap—with practical advice drawn from real life in Canada.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Real-world insights from living in Canada
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated whenever a genuine change occurs
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A sponsored review site
- A standard travel diary
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Canada continues, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll keep documenting what we discover.
If you have questions about family life in Toronto or anywhere in Canada, don't hesitate to get in touch.
Best regards,
Emma
